And, of course, if/when you might install a Pertronix electronic
ignition system,
to ensure as hot of a spark as possible, they recommend that NO ballast
resistor
be installed (although you can leave the OEM-guy still residing next to
the coil; just
not actually wired to it).

For what its worth , CHEBBIES starting circuit had NO resister and
would run on a 2 ohm unit.
