My '73 takes a bit of cranking when hot, but starts fast in the morning and 
when cool.  It seems the same as chryslers did when I grew up with them in 
the 60's and 70's.  My 73 is only 8 to 1 and the 67 is at least 10 to 1.  
With the high compression, it is especially important to have a healthy 
ignition, timing,fuel system and starter/battery.  Timing chain stretch is 
greatest when hot.  In the 70's the police had freon "cool fuel" systems and 
extra steering coolers. They really work.
