I have had experience with it in newer cars. On modern systems, the
transformaer is small enough to be built into the lamp. Interestingly,
the same exact sound can be heard, as is present in our old Imperials,
if you listen closely to the lamp. I don't know about the 300, but
other cars have feaatured this type of lighting. I have found that the
newer individual lamps are not serviceable, and require complete
replacement when they fail. This can be a problem for older cars since
the parts become obselete within a few years after they are made.

Has anyone looked or found out how this system is builded in the new
300?
Is there same kind of transformer (12vdc --> 200vac)?
