You might need to go to a preformance exhaust manifold gasket by felt-pro
that is thicker than the stock gasket. It fixed my 440. Wouldn't be a bad
idea to machine the manifold. As far as the bolts go....see what they look
like when u have it all apart.

Happy New Year everyone!
Got a popping noise coming from my drivers side exhaust manifold. Wanted
to check in with you all before I started messing with it. I imagine I
need a new gasket but wondered if I needed new bolts and to machine the
manifold surface? Anybody just do this? I was surprised since I only
have about 6000 miles on this rebuild. I do however remember the same
problem on my 66 fury way back when...Thanks for the insight,
Reggie
