Well, I checked a couple of things out in the meantime. I looked at my
exhaust manifolds and they look pretty much like the day they were
painted - and I've got 3000 miles on them. I was wrong, however in
saying it was a Duplicolor product. The Duplicolor was what I put on
the parking brake drum so if I ever idiotically forget to release the
brake again for a quarter mile, at least I won't burn the paint off.
Then I talked to my body guy who painted the manifolds. He dug out the
can he used, and it was an an old Eastwood product called Stainless
Steel Coating (#1256) that I think I bought about 20 years ago. Looking
in the current Eastwood offerings I no longer find that part number
available, but I do see a product #10364Z that is likely the same
thing. I forgot to ask, but I'm pretty sure he would have sprayed it on
rather than brushing it.
Bottom line is it works like a charm, Mark.
