  Some vehicles have factory installed external heat exchangers in front of the radiator as secondary help and primary coolers. Ones I've seen are stacked plate type coolers. We use Tru-Cool, LPD series coolers from Long Manufacturing. Work well. They are stacked plate, plate and fin, type. 

  Hayden is an old trusted name and theirs are single serpentine tube design with turbulators.
