A lot depends on the car. A Satellite that was Grandma green with a
matching gut, 318/904 combo is worth a lot more modified (tastefully
of course) but an original 440/6 Road Runner or any Hemi car is
worth more stock unless it has a racing history and is in as raced
form. A Model a coupe done right is worth more as a HOTROD than a
stocker, an original Duesenburg, Auburn, Cord, ect.(and it'd be a
sin to touch one), is worth more stock. Our cars fall in the which
make/ model you have category. A really nice customized red Savoy
sedan would bring more money than a stock green one, it seems that
Christine clones bring more than stock 57-8 Plymouth Belveredes and
Savoys, and it probably goes the same for Chrysler Windsor sedans,
Newports, ect. But once you talk Chrysler 300's, New Yorker
hardtops, Desoto Adventurers and hardtops, D500s,all convertibles,
and Furys, it's probably more financially wise to leave them alone,
My Fury excluded from that of course.

Don't get me wrong, there were cars there that were 100% stock
that brought big auction prices but most were one of a kind
production cars that were already changed (customized) at the
factory before they were shipped to the new car dealers. *
*So my condolences to all the purists out there, ( I myself was
one many years ago) I know how you must feel. My advice is
accept it or go into denial and try to prove 3 days of world
wide facts broadcast to the world never happen. *
*Of course that is just my opinion, and I could be wrong-----but
the overwhelming facts do point in that direction. *
