[FWDLK] Hardtop vs Sedan

Hello,
Could someone tell me the difference between a hardtop and a sedan?
I was under the impression that I had a hardtop, but was informed
that I have a sedan by a knowledgable source.  Now I'm really
confused!  Like I wasn't before...  heh heh.

Does it have to do with the ridge around the inside rim of the roof?
Or the small pillar between the front and back door?

Someone please help!
