The dual snorkel air cleaner housings came with vehicles the factory produced
with dual exhaust. In Imperial speakie that means the "Rag-Tops" and any
special order Imperial. The dual exhaust engine may also have a power steering
pump with a larger diameter pulley on it. Starting in 1967 they changed the
exhaust manifold from the style they had been using on non lettered 300's and
the such and called the dual exhaust / dual snorkeled engines the "HP" 375 horse
powered 440. ( The 383's in lessor vehicles also used the same manifolds and
etc. The six-pak 440's too. )
The first style had the large round tube. Then came the style with the taper
and then ...
