When I first bought my '56 it had one of those installed. I later converted it to the standard hot water style. I ran the gas heater for a couple of years. It got hot very quickly. It also used quite a bit of gas, but I don't think it was working correctly. Eventually it developed a leak and I experienced a fire under the car. Shortly after that I did the conversion.
