Sonny...
My boss was a contractor during the 1966-68 construction of HemisFair in San
Antonio.
The plates are UNIQUE! ... and I doubt that a new pair like that can be
found again. It is possible that the seller has stumbled upon a gaggle of
sets left over from the Huntsville Prison, and may be going to "feed" them
to the eBay over a period of time. Its a gamble... but go for it...
Even with the little bit of rust on the edges, they are worth PLENTY! I
found a set of 1934 Hawaii Plates on Maui (the year I was born.) They cost
me $95.00 in a pawn shop.
What a find!
I see that they are up a lot more now... how high would you go before giving
up?
