Thank you for the compliments. Hemmings has made it
this far without me, so I'll let them be.
I spray primer with the cheapest siphon spray can that
I can find, and it works out just fine. They're all
metal, and I'm suspicious of the stuff that has
plastic jugs and whatnot.
I bought a HVLP gun, again a cheap one, the other day
and will try it out. I think it was $75, and that
wasn't so cheap although I know that some of the nice
ones go for $250. I just don't paint enough things to
justify or even know the difference. I do try to keep
the primer and the paint stuff seperate. The primer
has solids and I'd hate to be spraying paint and have
a primer booger come out in the process of a paint
job, regardless of whether that's a real possibility
or not...
I buy cheap stuff from Harbor Freight and 7 times out
of 10 it's just fine. If I wear something out or
think there's an advantage to moving up, I do that.
The sanders they sell in particular are maybe 50% the
cost of other ones and seem to go forever if oiled
properly.
