Allthough I must add that my 1960 Crown has still some "cable guide
channels" were you can route a bowden cable to the door".
But then again, they were not installed and the seats can only be swiveld by
operating the lever just like your car!
Still quite a nice gadget to show to friends and collegaes at work :)

During the 1960 model year, the mechanism was changed so that it did
not automatically swivel the seat out when the door was opened. It
could only be swiveled by actuating the lever by hand.

You're correct! I believe the reason it says "1960-1961" in the repair
section is that the design was changed after 1959, so the repair
instructions would be somewhat different.
