This is how myths and legends start.  Someone makes up an exciting story and
sends it out.  Thousands of people will receive it, believe it, and pass it
along.  (a good example: Al Gore & Global Warming)  It's always best to
doubt everything you receive until it can be verified.  But if a myth or
legend has been out there awhile and read often enough by enough people, the
fact that it's false doesn't matter because everyone believes it to be true.
This was a good find by Laurie using one of the better hoax-verification
sites out there.
