I noticed in addition to no brakes a vacuum leak sound coming from the dash
area. When you can't hold a pedal it's usually the booster, the master cyl.
Or a busted line to the wheels.

Brake pedal like a rock, need both feet to stop the car, if you can stop
it.
A lesser case of failure is characterized by higher than normal brake
effort, accompanied by a hissing noise.
