calipers Loaded,(with pads) for $66.99,ea. plus core of $14.00 ea. Part no.
P4031, supplied by Morse.(I think he said that was the pair part no.) Call and

I'm having the same problem finding the left side
caliper. Will Cardone rebuild mine without ripping me off? Goldline will
rebuild you calipers in PAIRS only, for $350. EACH!   Chris

Thanks,  Am going thru the brakes and converting them to dot 5 (silicone
fluid). I am replacing all components at this time as that is the only way
to changeover to the dot 5 without problems,  have been able to
find all components except calipers . I got the hoses from carquest,
the rear shoes from carquest,  the master cylinder from (new) from
raybestos, but the calipers (which I have bought before with no problem)
where either not listed or not available from every auto parts store I
called. I went on line and found them at rockauto but only for the r/h
side, they gave me the number for a1cardone, called them and they said
they did not have any cores for the left side, thus no rebuilds.
the front pads gave me fits  untill I called C>H>Topper in
california and he told me that corvette d8 or d9 pads are similar and he
could make me up a set for 28.00 bucks so I have everything I need except
a left hand caliper, I got a budd caliper rebuild kit (New old stock)
from ebay, but I cannot get one of the pucks out of the the caliper
without destoying the puck I am afraid. Does anybody have an EXTRA brake
puck that they can part with ? so I can get this together. thanks,
mike  Ps I will be posting more detailed part numbers and sources for
the brake parts , maybe they can be added to the 67-68 part of the
      website  ----- Original Message -----

        As Chris correctly pointed
out, you don't want a mirror type reflection - the right surface is a
frosty appearance such as you would get from spray aluminum paint.
         Actually, in the case of
all 3 of the 67-68s I've owned, just taking the fixture apart and
carefully cleaning and polishing the lens and reflector has rewarded me
with brand new looking tail lights, which are very bright and clear
looking - you couldn't hope for anything better.

        Can someone
        explain what "vacuum chromed" is?
        Also re the
reflectors and spray paint, what about if you got some of those mirror
tiles and glued them behind the bulbs?
