I believe that the unit was changed, and became a 45 player in the final years that it was available. 1960 and '61 sounds right.
Hummm.... the '57 Imperial had a 16RPM turntable option.
They went to the slow speed so it would not skip on bumpy roads.
Looks like a 45RPM would skip pretty bad.
