The accessory load on the ignition switch is too great in these cars and it
eventually burns out the accessory contact on the switch. Your only
alternative is to replace the ignition switch.

The third wire from the top of this connector (this is the ignition switch
connector) is black with orange (or pink). This feeds the accessories. If
you jump this wire to either the top wire (red) or the second wire (black)
you should have your accessories back. If they do come back, your switch is
toast.
After replacing my switch, I installed a relay under the dash that will
handle the current from this curcuit rather than making the switch do it.
This should save my ignition switch.

While driving yesterday the AC and most electrical components stopped
working (Windows, radio seats, etc). The airbag idiot light is on. The
positive cable to the battery is 'frayed', my question is; could that cable
be bad and would that cause these issues? Prior to that everything seemed
to be working fine.
