I'm sorry about the 57

- There is a '69 Imperial resin kit on Ebay right now. Can you provide
more about the reissue of the '57??? I am aware of the '59 from Model
King, but haven't run across the '57 anyplace. I would really like to
snag one if they are available.
- Thanks!

- That 62 AMT kit definitely was not to scale in the engine bay region.
I agree that the long ram intake is the coolest thing under a hood. So
this model falls under the "what if" category.
- I guess if you want to get creative with the sheet metal, you may be
able to shoe horn a set of these in an Imperial. Getting to the spark
plugs presents a whole new set of challenges, since engine access at the
driver's side is tough enough as it is without that intake
style!
- I'm glad you're getting your model tools out. Everyone needs to take
a stab at plastic every now and then.
- It's good for the soul.
- Remember, the AMT re issue (under SMP) of the 57 Imperial is now
available in 1/25th scale.
- Then, if you feel like spending some $$, go to the modelhaus.com for
some outstanding resin models of great cars that we will seldom see
offered by the current kit manufacturers.
- Also check out TKM models. They make resin kits, and they used to
have one of a 69 Imperial; the only 69 Imperial I have ever seen in any
scale. The kit is a bit rough, but with a lot of putty and patience it
can be made to look quite decent.

- Hola..
- Just looked at the very very kewl model that Chris Middlebrook built,
and
- either the coffee was kicking in a bit hard or I dont know, but would
a set
- of long rams actually physically fit in a 61-63 Imperial? I always
presumed
- there wasnt enough clearance to the inner fenders, since the
sheetmetal
- comes inboard so much to create that extra wide fender horizontal
surface.
- The implications are overwhelming, I consider long rams one of the
holy
- grails of Ma Mopars engineering, as well as the sheer eye appeal of
what
- they are in an engine bay.
- Obviously the auto pilot would be in the way but imho a set of long
rams is
- a bit kewler than an auto pilot, I could see the power bra ke booster
being a
- problem but they do make remote boosters. If this meant not having a
heat
- riser between the exhaust and intake manifolds , I could probably
live with
- that since I dont drive a lot when its freezing or below. Thats what
block
- heaters are for anyway.
- Well now in the meantime I have to find another Imperial model to
build and
- then a model of anything with some long rams, and get my modeling
tools
- out...............
