Ryan,
The choke coil is located above the glove box which, has to be removed
first, to access it. Check all your fuses to make sure none are blown or
loose. I put in a pioneer CD player and had a similar experience.

Subject: IML: '90 Imperial Stereo Wiring/AMP Problems
Allrighty, im glad to have found such an exstensive site on the imperial!
Well I have a 1990 Imperial, I just removed the radio from it. It was an
Infinty II (had a little joystick for balance/fade, AM/FM/Cassette) Then I
put in my new Alpine CD/MP3 player in its place, all the wires hooked up
great, turned it on......I have no Bass whatsoever. there is a cable that
had a little black box on the end of it, (the cable was gray/red, or
gray/green) and the black plastic piece said AMP. I get sound, and
someone said it was only coming throught the tweeter. There isnt sound in
the front door speakers, but up on the dash, and in the rear there is
sound.
(yes i've changed the EQ's and still no bass)
Now ive read that the speakers each have their own amp, but if they did, I
would be getting power to the speakers, which I am not. So im wondering
where this "amp wire" is supposed to be connected too? Im pretty sure it
goes somewhere in the dash, but I've been having trouble locating where.
