For your 1963 :
You are correct that 0906 is the scheduled build date, but it is September
06, 1962, not 1963. The 1963 cars went into production in August 1962 and
were built through July, 1963.
The 1963 Imperial was built at Jefferson Avenue along with Chrysler and
Dodge 880 vehicles. Thus the Shipping Order Number, 0906 6141, would
include Chryslers, Imperials and Dodges.
> S0 Number BDY TRM PNT
> 0906 6141 924 924 HH1
The BDY is the car line, series and body style :
9 - Imperial
2 - Crown
4 - 4-door hardtop
The TRM is the interior trim :
92 - Cloth & leather bench seat
4 - Grey
The PNT is the exterior paint -
H - Roof colour - Forest Green Metallic
H - Body Colour - Forest Green Metallic
1 - Style - Monotone
Forest Green Metallic (H), a very dark green, was used only on Imperials,
Chryslers and Dodge 880s - which is to say only cars built at Jefferson
Avenue. The 1962 Sage Green (G) is much lighter. Any signs of a repaint
oin your car?
Being a Crown, and given your belief that it is car 4641, your serial number
should be 9233 104641, which is rather low for September. The first car off
the line would have been 100001 and gone up. The sequence numbers would
have included Imperials, Chryslers and Dodges. Thus, if '104641' is
correct, it was the 4,641st car off the line, and not the 4,641st Crown.
There is no relation between the Shipping Order Number and the Sequential
Production Number.
> 2234 5 5 61 23
What are the letters above these numbers? Without the related letters, the
numbers are meaningless. What options do you have on the car?
On your 1956 Imperial, look for "SCHED". The numbers under that heading
form the Scheduled Build Date.

so I am trying to find out if there is something on the data plates of the
56 and the 63 Crown to identify --at least the month/year--- in which they
became 'an official vehicle'. The VIN #'s-stamped on plates on the drivers
A pillar don't have any of the same #'s as the respective data plates.
