OK, my panic is over, it has left behind only some minor concern.
I called around this afternoon and found a computer for $100. I ordered it
and it should arrive this weekend. I can get a rebuilt alternator for $172
locally. After paying the mechanic for diagnosis and R&R, I figure I'll be
out about $500 for this little adventure. I guess it could have been worse.

I just learned that the computer from a 1990 Dynasty or New Yorker with the
3.3 Litre engine would have the same computer.
