Took the tank out again and removed the sending unit.
I attached a jumper wire to the hot wire and a ground wire from the unit
to=
the frame close to the ignition switch.
Turned the key on and lifted the float....Nothing......But, noticed a
sligh=
t movement when the float was down so I reversed the position of the
rheost=
at and lifted the float and got movement of my gas gauge.
Put it all back together and re=3Dinstalled the tank and attached the
groun=
d strap to the frame, turned the key on and.......not working, said fuck
it=
and started the car and did some timing and idle adjustments and took
 the =
car out on the road.....
Ran hot and the transmission isn't shifting right.....Said fuck it
again a=
nd parked it....Then found a transmission fluid drip right under the
area o=
f the transmission that indicates the front seal is leaking......So now
the=
lack of a working fuel gauge is the least of my worries.
Gonna set the car on jack stands and remove the tranny and replace the
fron=
t seal and while it is out I am going to put the stock converter back in
an=
d get the 10 inch high stall converter rebuilt and put it on the 496
stroke=
r motor.
