just my 2 cents--- If the top bows and other top parts need work, I would
do them first so as not risk new paint damage. Then the body work and
paint. - A lot easier to detail the engine compartment with the engine out
of the way. I would put the engine on a stand so it could be cleaned and
worked on in between other work. I would do the trim and top last

I have started work on my 65 Bel II vert, doing all the mechanical/engine
stuff required but need a group opinion on what to do first.
1 Do all the body work/paint required or
2. Replace/repair all the convertible top parts
Unfortunately the car has to sit out under cover for now and my thoughts
were
to do the top first to help seal the interior but it may be a year before

get to complete the body/paint work.
