Hi Butch,
The advantage of a fusible link over a glass fuse and holder is the fusible 
link can carry a heavier load and can substain a brief voltage spike with 
out blowing like a conventional fuse would. And obviously a fusible link 
looks a lot better than a spliced in fuse holder. The fusible links on your 
Sport Fury would be located near the starter relay area. Factory ones are 
usually marked with a plastic "flag" stating their load limit.
