Gary,
It is always "jelly-side down" when it comes to car repair and maintenance.
A mis or non-adjusted rocker & valve could cause more serious problem that
would necessitate removal of the head to replace a worn or bent valve,
although I do not know if your broken rocker/adjuster is that far out of
adjustment.
I would try to remove the shaft enough to replace that rocker. If you
cannot move the shaft far enough I would try the EZ-out. There is quite a
bit of "bite" left on the broken adjuster that I think you will be able to
remove it safely.
Let me know when you get it out and I will send you another rocker arm with
adjuster.

Subject: Poly rocker advice?
Hi all,
I pulled the valve cover to adjust the valves. One of the adjusters is
broken off. See pictures here:
http://1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/poly318rockers.html
Of course, the broken rocker is in the center, so I'm not sure I can pull
the rocker shaft far enough toward the front of the car to get access to
that rocker to replace it without the shaft hitting the radiator support
before I can get to the broken rocker to R&R. I *really* don't want to
remove the head.
Options I can think of are:
1) adjust all the other rockers and leave the broken rocker alone, as is.
2) use an EZ out to see if the broken adjuster can get out that way. I've
not ahd good luck with EZ Outs though.
3) try to shift the rocker shaft forward enough to remove and replace the
broken one.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Gary H.
