The pivot at the bottom seems to me to be where the resistance is to 
hold them in position.  There is a strap there that is riveted on.  You 
might need  to pull out the wing window bracket and hammer is tighter.  
Not a small job getting those in and out.  Maybe, you can pull the door 
panel and reach it.
