vinyl dye

Hi all
We got a chance to get some spare interior parts for our Polara, but the 
vinyl is black, not red like we need.
Has anyone out there had any success dying dark arm rests & dashes etc 
to a lighter color, to match the rest of the interior?
Any products to be recommended?
