I am new to this forum, I have been a member of the 62to 65 Mopar web
site for several years. I have a 1962 Plymouth Fruy Cv. I has been
pictured on the website for quite a while, but getting to what I was
writing about. My brother-in-law bought a 1964 Plymouth Belvedere 2dr
hardtop, Dark blue metalic paint that was a beautiful. The big thing
about the car thou was it had the 383 ci HP engine 4 speed trans, and
was one of the fastest cars around here. The chebys and phords
couldn't do a thing with it. I can only remember it getting beat one
time and that was by a Hemi.
It had the 38 HP marking on the block in front of the dist.

Dodge during that time also offered a 2 bbl version of the 383. Don't
remember the hp rating.

The 2 bbl version in '63 for Dodge was rated at 305hp. My folks had a
wagon with that set-up and it ran great. Quite a hot rod.
