Vinyl top replacement

I just bought a 67 Newport (sorry 4 off-topic) last weekend and the 
vinyl top is wasted. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to paint the 
car, so I don't know what I'm going to do with the top. I was just 
curious if anyone could give me an idea of how much it costs to have a 
new top installed (fastback roof), can it be done yourself, or how hard 
it would be to stip the top and paint it with the car? Anybody have any 
experience with either? Thanks
