I am still not satisfied with my trans shifting. It feels like it wants
to creep in neutral and the kickdown is practically non-existant. I have
managed to get the neutral safety switch working again.
I moved the adjustment clockwise one "hole" yesterday and I believe it
is better. I also tightened the kickdown cable about 1/4". I had it so
that there was no slack before. I think I'll try one more notch
clockwise and see if it's better still. I had gone one "hole"
counterclockwise and it was noticeably worse.
Nobody I have found around here has a clue about the adjustment on the
buttons. I previously tightened the button mechanism and that had shown
a great improvement too. There were some loose nuts/bolts in it when I
checked. If I have any real problems I may take a drive over to Lincoln
where it was rebuilt as that guy knows these cars.
