Hello All
After getting bounced around by Topica with my regular mail, I've had to
re-subscribe with a different mailing address. Thanks to all who
offered comments, tips, suggestions, encouragement, etc on a decision to
drive my newly purchased 65 Dart wagon from Burbank CA cross country to
VA or to have it transported. The final decision was to have it
transported! I'm on a personal LOA from work and wife doesn't work and
if I weren't starting a part-time with the USPS soon, we'd have
definitely done the trip. We just didn't want to take a chance that we
wouldn't make it back by Oct 4th. Going back over some of themessages
I've missed, I see some concerning transport from TX to FL or maybe the
other way around. Anyway I did some checking for rates and found a
company who will go door to door from Burbank to here in VA for $875.
After I contracted with them I did get one more rate by email for $795.
Either way I think either rate are great for cross country. They've
already made arrangements with the former owner to pick the Dart up
today at 3PM and said it would be delivered late next week. I'll let
the list know my experiences with the company. So far it's been very
good with the communications. By the way as a side note, my wife was
kind of disappointed we weren't driving - she had hoped to be able to
stop here and there and sightsee! Will take Rachel's advice and do the
mini-vacation after we get the Dart.
Don
