I had the same set up but sold it. I had the bell housing and trans so no machine work was needed. That is a great way to go. I tried to figure out a way to put it behind a big block. But never got around to it.

Found a 4 speed A-833 Overdrive tranny. Dont know squat about
these.Help! Came from a Dart ( dont know the year) . Will it fit in a 65
Barracuda behind a small block? Does it sound like a smart move, or is
that overdrive just trouble. I imagine for highway cruising it would be
nice and allow me to run some steeper gears, for off the line, but
remember this project is not a drag car, but a open road corner turner I
am building.
How about linkage setup? Shifter? Anything else I am not thinking of?
