Re: {Chrysler 300} heads up Rock auto

Guess I'm about to find out.  Drive train vibration in my 06 Magnum SRT-8 is a known problem with carrier bearing and/or Guibo steel impregnated rubber gadget on front end of drive shaft.
So far all has been good for me through Rock, except for RV-2 A/C compressors that don't last (I don't think it's a Rock issue-  they're all just remanufactured old stuff).  After the next failure, I think I'm going to mount a modern Sanden in place of the RV-2 and hopefully be done once and for all.  Seems like most Mopar guys down here have gone that route.  Old Air products has a mounting kit that allows you to mount the Sanden right where the RV-2 used to be.  You just have to get new hoses made up since fittings on the compressor are totally different.  Original hoses are 55 years old and should be changed anyway.
Wiper blades seem to be a lot cheaper on Rock than in the local store.  Go through them a lot faster in the Texas sun.

Cardan one end regular other end , known mopar vibration hassle point . Bought one for another 02 GC  from Rock year or 3 back about $140 . Had bought some stuff off Amazon in interim ,  8 of 10 ok, but 2 were  really dodgy , but all great prices . Key there ( now wiser) read all the reviews

Because I  dont want to deal with Dodgy on this 02 ( daily driver) went right to Rock
500$ now , 3-4 choices ( YOW ) !4 x up .
Jacking prices?
Desperation ?
But need it — bought one , bothered me — feeling ripped off for what the thing is
So just “  for h of it” looked an Amazon .. 4-5 on offer around 149$ … free ship ( Prime) vs 60$
I read on line a lot of unhappiness over Rock past few years , they were so good. They closed customer service , instituted huge core return shipping charges ( using their click on  shipping label ) 80$ for 20$ credit etc
So , they are intensely discouraging returns . Not equipped to deal  with 1000’s of  incompetents  ordering wrong  stuff , or the stuff did not fix it — was the back story  . Kind of get it

But say a Sanden AC compressor new for 150 ( mopar charged  me 1500 at dealer)   is or was unbeatable . I think Amazon is killing all these car parts guys  now  , just like they killed dept stores and sears etc   One day its here and often  free  shipping but data base is a  wreck incomplete or wrong info etc

I wonder what feeling here is? It was a good thing due to choice of quality vs price and name brands ,,good , easy to use data base   , unlike junk search engines at Summit and Jegs ; put Chrysler in search , it tries  to sell you chevy rods . I use google first , it sends you there . Their own search is a sad joke
I miss JCW catalog ..
