Hi Jay I assume you mean 10 inches of mercury not psi. That is very low. Should be 17 to 22. I could guess (and I have my suspicions) but it could be a multitude of reasons based on what you have said. I have an old book entitled "Auto Repairs You Can Make". It is very basic, bought when I was just "starting out", but even it has a 7-page chapter on "Pinpointing ailments with a vacuum gauge". It's not just the vacuum reading that’s important, but what the needle is doing as well. It also contains other problems not mentioned by responses so far. If you had that book, you would find your particular problem... It is great that Club members are very helpful with suggestions, but there is a limit to the responses you will get based on the information you supply. I suggest that people interested in diagnosing and fixing cars go "old school" and buy a relevant book. Doesn't even have to be Chrysler specific for problems common to all cars. However, the Club list server is very useful when it comes to the unique 300 designs. I know it isn't as easy as firing off an email, but books usually are thoroughly researched and contain all the possible issues concerned. A car nerd like me even likes reading car manuals cover to cover as much as a novel. No need to "run out of ideas" when it's all been done and documented before. The car has never really had a smooth idle, so I replaced the plugs, cap, condenser, plug wires and points. Re-gapped the points to .017 and the plugs to.035. When I check the volume at idle with the car properly timed, I’m pulling 10psi off the passenger side vacuum port. That seems a bit low to me. Brake booster is holding vacuum and I have replaced all vacuum hoses. I’m running out of ideas.
