{Chrysler 300} Mopars on the Mississippi - no Chrysler 300 class this year

FYI to those in the Midwest who may be interested in the Mopars on the Mississippi show this Sunday 8/24 in Dubuque, IA: While the weather looks to be picture perfect this year (sunny, low 70's, low humidity), I just discovered after reviewing the show flyer that for this year, they have eliminated the Chrysler 300 show class. They still had a 300 class last year, and for the last 15+ years (mostly a result of the effort put forth by our fellow club member Dave Schwandt a number of years ago). Evidently, not enough of us have shown up to support the class, although it also looks to me like an emphasis on modern LX platform cars (eight classes) as well as other more "modern" Mopars has overridden the desire to attract anything older than the mid-60s and up muscle era. Just my observations.
I was going to attend with my 62 Sport convertible, but am now reconsidering attending at all. I have little interest in seeing modern Mopars, but that's just me. If I want to do that, I can just cruise over to my local CDJR dealer used car lot.
So grateful to have attended the recent Buffalo meet, with real 300s, great people, and great events!!
Carl B.
