cant use a literal one way valve ( check valve) as it drains the same direction as cooling flow ? 

but maybe a spring held low pressure (3-4 psi ) relief valve , which might be disguised as a one way valve with a spring?

We worked out that it's the lower fitting in the drivers side of the transmission and that pipe heads to the right side of the (car) cooler (passenger). I wanted to know as I fit a one way valve to stop torque converter drain back causing leaks when sitting.
