{Chrysler 300} Buffalo Meet 2025: Part 5 of 6

Niagara Falls, USA

Niagara Falls State Park, USA is the oldest state park in the United States, established in 1885 as the Niagara Reservation.  A retired civil engineer, I was part of the design team for the renovation of the entranceway and riverway into the Park in 2019. This included the all new parkway, bicycle and walking paths, and a flurry of new lighting and landscaping. So of course I am excited to host you all there!  After the Herschell Carrousel Factory museum on Friday morning, an afternoon at the Falls is planned.

We are suggesting you purchase a Niagara Scenic Trolley ticket there, at $5 per person, which will take you all around the park.   We will take a poll at lunch, and will look to have those that are interested tour together on the Maid of the Mist, the Cave of the Winds, or both.  Tickets for each event are $31 and $27 respectively,  The Maid of the Mist is a lower river boat ride that takes you right near the mist of the falls.   You will get wet, but raincoats are provided!  The Cave of the WInds is a walking tour down to the base of the Falls.   Look, if you have never been there, you owe it to yourself to try one of these out if you can.   All ticket purchases will be the day we are there, so no pre-worry.  There is some walking and climbing, so you should gauge whether you are fit for each of these attractions.

If you are in decent hiking shape, you can skip the trolley and take a half mile walk to the Falls.  Check out Three Sisters Islands, directly in the Falls Rapids.  Check out each of the American Falls, the Canadian (horseshoe) Falls, and the Bridal Veil Falls from both Prospect Point and Terrapin Point.   The trolley will take you to all of these places!  And, if you like what you see, come back some night.   The Falls are illuminated every night at least until midnight or sometime until 2 AM.

Fast Fact:  The speed of the Niagara River rapids upstream of the falls averages 25 mph or 36 feet per second, recorded at peaks at much faster speeds.  You could not swim against or even side with the current.

If you want to spend more time here, try the Aquarium of Niagara.   If you do, you may wish to purchase a Discovery Pass which covers several of the Falls USA attractions for a reduced price.  In the City, there is the Seneca-Niagara Casino and Hotel, which can't be missed, as it is a 21 story building that is visible for miles!  Outside the City, there are Outlet Malls which usually draw out of town shoppers and are popular to many.

Niagara Falls, USA attracts over 8 million visitors annually,   We are glad you are going to be able to add to that number.

See you next month! Did you get your registration form in yet?

Final upcoming piece:   Other Area Things to Do

SIncerely,

Ron, Jamie, and Bob
