hi measure resistance of plug wires , has to be less than 40000 ohms . Maybe someone pulled on wire broken inside . slight chance some kind of off center looseness in distributor bearings impacting dwell on one side more than other Points set not perfectly would add to impact of that i really believe only way to tell dual points are perfect is the old Sears analog dwell meter The points move as you tighten screw , feeler gauge is for dreamers . Been there long ago Digital stuff leads you down garden path with erratic bad data ( looking at you , junk snap on dial back timing light ) . Caused me untold grief . Finally , an old sears chrome light that connects to # 1 solidly with plug adapter solved all that . My friend Ed, had one his dad left behind . Pickup type modern timing guns WILL pick up other cylinders — sometimes Both sears auto tools on ebay cheap I cannot see how carb or mixture would only hit two rear cylinders , opposite side carbs .. Vacuum leak would run lean .. Compression check , but doubt motor trouble at back of both banks ? let us know how you do . Could go up one step hotter in heat range , or iridium plugs On May 29, 2025, at 2:43 PM, Anthony Doughty <62red300h@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
