[Chrysler300] Letter car results Barrett Jackson.

Hi club,

Here are the results of the sale of the three letter series cars at this weekends Barrett-Jackson West Palm Beach Auction:

There were four total including D, E, F and H coupes.   

The H Coupe was pulled for an unknown reason.   At least three club members have owned that car in the last 12 years (including me) and it is a known car. There are no known issues with its provenance. 842323123379

The D coupe LC41149 sold for 30k hammer.   The car was a driver quality car..  

The E coupe M591100584 sold for $20,000 hammer. It was a very old restoration with wrong seats, some rust and needing TLC.   

The F coupe 8403141886 sold for 35,000 hammer and had very poor rust repair, added vintage rear s/c and barely ran.   

These cars along with approximately 30 others came from a museum collection that did not maintain their cars well and did nothing to prepare them for auction.  An example is the 1960 Eldorado Biarritz convertible that sold for $32,000.  The air ride was leaky and most thought the car was a low rider so it did badly on the block.  

I don’t think these results are indicative of where the market is today for letter cars.   If bringing a car to auction, it needs to present and run well.  None of these cars did with the exception of the D coupe.  The E and F were nothing more than projects.  No doubt prices were dragged down by the quality of the overall collection.
