Hi, Dave:

Yes. There is a nut on the shaft in the lower control arm that sits behind the head of the torsion bar that has to be removed. To make matters more difficult, it's held in place with a cotter pin. There is very little room to work it out. I found this to be the case on my '59 and '64. Maybe someone else in the club has a better approach.
