The ‘57 Imperial “flite-sweep” or “flite-swept” (fake spare tire) deck lid was a different configuration from the New Yorker/300C (required content) decklid and would not fit.  The “spare tire” imprint was part of the decklid, while the emblem in the center was a separate piece. 

We’re getting off topic so if you would like to Ross reply to me directly with a photo attached and I will try to I.D.  Perhaps what you could have is a period aftermarket item.

In 1957, a simulated tire mount (fake spare tire mounted on the trunk lid), was offered as an optional accessory on the Imperial. It is quite possible that one of these tire mounts was added to a New Yorker at some point in its life. My two-cents for what its worth.
