I am not necessarily an expert on this, but I dow know that Chrysler reset the engine year alpha scale to A in 1965, so a G 440 is most likely a 1971 engine.  The 1971 440's were either standard performance 335 horsepower engines with 8.5:1 compression ratio, or high performance 370 horsepower engines with 9.5:1 compression ratio.  My "two cents" for what its worth.

thinking about a 66 300 to add to the pile.  Seller states it has a 440 which it 
oes……has G 440  as well as 11  6 stamped on the pad.  Any idea where it came 
rom and its horsiness?  Is the G more than one year?
