Daryl,
I can't answer your question about the hi-torque starter fitting the G,
although I bought one hoping it will fit. I haven't tried to put it on yet.
However, the problem I have had with rebuilding my starter is that the
hi-yield windings used in the older starters for the higher horse power
motors are no longer available. Once my engine gets hot, my starter (after a
rebuild) will barely turn the engine over. I am hoping the hi-torque starter
works (I called the manufacturer and asked and they said it would fit the
60/61 413's). I hope to try to put it on in the next few weeks.

Subject: [Chrysler300] Starter Motor
Does anyone know if you can install a 1962 or later Hi Torque starter motor
on a 1961 300-G. I can't seem to find any rebuilt starter motors for the 61
Chrysler any more. And the later Hi Torque starter is better. The problem
that I know of with this is that the 61 starter motor has a threaded hole
for the upper mounting bolt and the later model Hi Torque just has a hole in
it. Has anyone done this before. I know if worst comes to worst I can send
my starter motor to a motor repair shop and get it rewound.
