JD  and others,

Diesel fuel does not oxidize as readily as gasoline does when stored in vented fuel tanks.  There is; however, a problem with long term storage of diesel fuel that requires and additive for protection.  Odd as it might sound there is an algae that grows in diesel fuel tanks and it can be responsible for clogging of passages in the fuel pumps and filters.  In any case that I have personally experienced such a problem has never occurred in less than 6 months of mostly warm and hot weather.  Needless to say that contamination in diesel systems can be very troublesome and potentially expensive.  I have no recommendation for additives, but recommend that you do some serious research on that matter.
