RE: [Chrysler300] 1960 300F at Mecum in Monterey 8-14

I'm going to the Mecum auction next week in Monterey and plan on
photographing the 300F.  I am curious as to when the air cleaners and other
items under the hood were chrome plated, as they weren't on the standard
300F.  Was this something the Chrysler race-prep engineers did, or was it
done after the race period by subsequent owner(s)?  It will be interesting
to see the documentation that accompanies the offering.
