[Chrysler300] oil pump recondition

Hi group,
My oil pump on my G seems to be leaking, either from a gasket or the o-ring seal. There is a gasket kit 2084355 available at the dealer ship, and the shop manual seems to make it look pretty easy, but I thought it wise to ask the list in case there are any tricks I should be aware of.
I have good oil pressure, so the pump operation itself is fine, but it is dripping on the front crossmember and leaving spots on the floor/driveway and even blowing back some oil under the car onto other surfaces. I was relieved to see the wet external oil pump bolted to the otherwise dry and clean motor as I first feared an engine seal of some kind might be leaking (like the front main) when I saw the spots on the ground near the front of the engine.
Any hints from people who have reconditioned their pumps appreciated.
