Mark,

If your car has factory air, AND the pod in question is under ths ignition 
switch rather than the volume knob, it is supposed to be for the floor air 
vent control.

If it IS under the volume knob as you mentioned, it is something some one 
has placed there and don't belong.

What????......musta been someone with 2 right hands??!!! (tic)

F's and G's all had automatic chokes to the best of my knowledge. Only the 
J's and Ram K's had manual chokes and they were on the left side of the 
steering column.

I'm sure others will weigh in on this topic and correct me if I'm wrong.
