Does any of the 55 Imperial front metal interchange with the 300?
There's a decent Impie frontend here in a local yard...

It has always been my contention that the 55 had a Windsor body, or at least
Windsor quarter panels. A NYer body would have too many holes in it (for
the fancier side trim). Obviously more holes had to be drilled for the
'Chrysler 300' lettering, but no holes had to be plugged if a Windsor body
was used.

Bob:
Thanks for pointing out this reasonably good article. I have seen the
comments about the source of the 1955 C300 body before. Can anyone tell
me if there really is any difference between the 1955 New Yorker,
Windsor, St. Regis and 300 rear quarter panels? If not, then it seems
the sheet metal parts of those bodies are all the same, except for the
nose pieces that hold the grilles. The plain 300 hood is like the
Imperial's and different models seem to have the lipped upper chrome
surround over the windshield. I think the front bumper is unique to the
300, although obviously based on the generic bumper on all models.
Dowdy? Not mine! It still causes heads to turn at age 50 years and two
days. I'm not sure many of us can say the same?? Even if--its not
likely in another 50 years!
