{Chrysler 300} 300G elbow

I am attempting to replace the gaskets on my G, which new ones from Bob M should be arriving shortly.  I am totally confused how to remove the elbow (see attached).  I can't pull it out straight nor can I just drop it down.  

 

Can someone offer some advise.
